We include a Test at the end of the
Training modules.
This Test is pertinent to your compliance
with
THE DSE Regulations, because as employers you have a duty of care
towards your employees and part of this may involve providing relevant
Training. If this training is not understood you may well be held
liable for not ensuring the effectiveness of that Training.
The Test, concludes the training module and
is
presented in a multi-choice scenario. The questions are in the same
section order as the training and are designed to test and prove the
understanding or otherwise of the training. Wrong answers are advised
to your Assessor, so that specific re-training can be provided.
The problem with a % Pass Mark is that the
Questions a user gets wrong and has not understood may be the very ones
that can create RSI/WRULDs, and a % Pass mark method is therefore a
very ineffective way of proving your duty of care in relation to
providing Training that is effective.
The DSE Regulations are clear:
"for many office based tasks the
assessment can be a judgement based on the responses to the checklist"
"...ergonomic checklist, which
should preferably be completed by users..."
So what does this mean for DSEasy
and you?
Firstly we need to ensure that all the
necessary questions are asked.
Therefore
the DSEasy checklist is comprehensive.
Compare the difficulties of paper based
assessments, with carrying them out on DSEasy:
|
Paper
|
DSEasy
|
| Cumbersome |
Easy to handle |
| Difficult to monitor |
Easy to monitor and analyse |
| Time consuming |
Easy to use |
| Daunting for an assessor |
Easy to assess |
| Easily lost |
Easy to locate |
| Expensive |
Much less expense |
The 2 minute checklist follows the training
module after the Test.
What this means is that maybe 30%, 40% even,
of your users will have made any necessary changes to their set up as
they went through the Training pages and NO RISK is shown on their
Checklist answers.
Therefore, if you like your assessment can
be based on this NO RISK answer checklist, therefore NO VISIT is
required.
